For LJ: What she will get to see when she moves...
I am in California right now -- for vacation mostly and to just get away from the East Coast for a moment.
I got to spend yesterday afternoon in Venice Beach. I am a Pisces and am always at home near the beach. I've managed to live near the beach a couple times in my life, and in my whole life I have never lived more than 30 minutes from the coast. I love the water.
Venice Beach was glorious yesterday. The sky was crystal blue, the ocean calm and glassy, the air crisp, the sand warm on my feet. I love this place. I love California so much.
When I moved to NY, it wasn't because I was thinking "I hate LA. LA sucks! I am going to be so cool and live in NY." I moved because I needed a change and had a job out there. But every time I've come back to California, I know that this place is my home.
I tell myself that with any luck, within two years I will be able to afford to move back to California. With any luck, I can convince my special gentleman friend that he wants to move to California, too. I don't think that will be too hard, but you never know. I just miss California so much. It's so beautiful here.
My guy is actually flying out tomorrow -- we're going to a friend of mine's wedding on Saturday. I have four days to show him how wonderful this place is. I can't wait to do so.
LJ is supposed to be moving out here (unless she is reconsidering and chickening out). So I took this photo of the beautiful beach, the ocean, and this sailboat. It's so calming, so lovely, so wonderful. LJ, you could see this scene every time you go to the beach. California is God's country.
