Thank you so much! I don't know when the bypass surgery is going to happen -- they have to wait for her lungs to clear up. I hope the surgery is soon...it's all so surreal and scary.

Woah. I'm totally sending you guys positive thoughts. And keep in mind that these days, that's not as bad as you think. David Letterman had QUINTUPLE bypass surgery.

that operation could really help her though - my Mom's husband totally seemed near death (he had chronic pneumonia as well) but he had the triple bypass 20 years ago and has been going strong ever since

Gosh, Mushi, I'd be scared, too. But you've got to put on a brave face for your Mom. Surgery this serious is now pretty routine, so don't worry too much! Prayers and good thoughts to you and your family.
